Course Information : Frequently Asked Questions
What are the first year costs and when do I have to pay? The cost each year is currently £2700 if paid in full. I offer an option of instalments - £500 deposit and 12 monthly payments of £200. These fees may be subject to an increase. The second year fee will be the same as the first (£500 non returnable deposit payable in November 2012, then the balance paid according to the agreement). In the second year, the revision weekend will consist of a residential weekend hopefully in Cropthorne in Worcestershire. We did this last time and it was a huge success. All accommodation costs for this will be inclusive of your course fees.
What does the £500 deposit and the course fee cover? What does the £500 deposit and the course fee cover? The cost is made up from a few fixed items; Amatsu Therapy Ireland Membership, Complementary Therapist Association Membership, First Year Student Insurance, a selection of recommended text books, a CD that contains all of the year's course material (an invaluable resource), exam fees and all food/drink and tuition fees. I pride myself on teaching everyone to the best of my ability, and to the best of the students' ability. I will mentor you throughout and will keep tabs on you in between the sessions so you are always supported in your learning. I'll do my best to teach to your learning style, and I have an excellent track record with exam results. Last batch of students achieved 9 distinctions (>85%) and 2 Merits (75-84%). The previous batch achieved 9 distinctions, 1 merit and 1 pass (65-74%).
What is the average study time needed for homework practical and written? Most people underestimate this. I recommend that you spend at least 5-7 hours a week on your Amatsu studies. There is written homework to complete each month, and every 2 months you need to submit 9 case studies (3 people, 3 times each). Each practical case study takes about an hour and a half to do and a similar time to write up.
How can I find out more about Amatsu training? You are warmly welcome to attend half a day at one of the 2011 courses so you can meet the staff, chat to the current students, and see the teaching and learning styles in action. Check the dates on the website, and let me know which one you'd like to attend. I can always put you in touch with some students via email so you can ask them questions about what it takes to be an Amatsu Student.

I will be embarking on the DTLLS course next year and I am a member of the Institute for Learning.
How many students in the class? There will be a maximum of 12 students. I have another 2 spaces per day for qualified practitioners for Continuing Professional Development bringing the maximum number in the room to 14.
Which assistants do you have helping you? I have two Teaching Assistants apprenticed to me. Noura Abi-Chahine and Suzanne Harding are undertaking the Amatsu Therapy Association Teacher Training programme. I am assisted by Taz Faruqi, another qualified teacher who has 12 years of teaching experience. Taz has a practical. down to earth approach, and together we make a well balanced teaching team.
